Tried a different clipboard package that worked for me! Tested on Mint and Tumbleweed! This one didn’t work. There were two different clipboard packages. Of course the first one I tried…didn’t work! To recap (for my purposes)…Worked? Yes : https://github.com/atotto/clipboardWorked? No : https://github.com/golang-design/clipboard

One casualty after last big update
VS Code no longer works.
X-Plane 12
Worth mentioning that it has been announced. I’ve enjoyed X-Plane 10 & 11. It’s a big satisfaction to me, who at this point in my life will never fly an actual plane. It’s something you can “play” that you can actually learn something from so it’s educational too. But honestly, I don’t see myself playing …
Tumbleweed applying 2710 new updates!
Massive update. Biggest by far. Like over 4 times as many updates than the largest previous single update. Warning: You are about to do a distribution upgrade with all enabled repositories. Success! Kernel went from 5.13.2-1-default to 5.14.6-1-default. Ran from 6:30P to almost 9P. But it was also waiting for a response to continue. So …
Signature verification for Repository NVIDIA failed
Getting this error in Tumbleweed the last week or so. I did a search and had a hit from 2011 in zypper. I’m not having the problem there. Back then…10 years ago many adviced to wait for it to be fixed. As a matter of fact. The manual “zypper refresh” reports “Repository ‘NVIDIA’ is up …

Wrote 1st very simple Go module!
Wrote my 1st very very simple Go module. Didn’t do anything useful but did enough to show me it worked! It involved “go mod init” where you define your module and creates go.mod Then you can create a folder containing the go module that the main.go program can import.
Go program using an external module
Wrote my 1st Go program to use an external module on github. Specifically the clipboard module. I was trying to follow the instructions on github…without success. Then I watched a YouTube video titled “Master Go Modules in under 13 minutes – Go _ Golang Module Tutorial”. After which I basically only needed to execute 3 …
Suse 6.1
I recently saw someone post some pics of their SuSE box’s on LinkedIn starting with 6.0. Beat me by 1 point. Here is a review from Linux Journal in 1999. The article says $49.95, apparently I got mine at CompUSA in South Florida for $29.99. So I still have the box so I thought I’d …
Javascript pause…again!
I don’t think I ever attempted to learn a language so many times to do something productive more than JavaScript. I start…I stop…I start…I stop…I start…I stop. However after recently learning enough Go to actually write an actual program. I can’t see myself using JavaScript to write anything useful. So although, thanks to node, I’ve …
Standard Notes
Heard about this cool android app on Destination Linux. It can replace the supplied note taking app, I frequently use on my phone. It also encrypts your notes. And has a Linux appimage program that can access your notes, it run’s on Mint and Tumbleweed. Now I can update the grocery list on my Linux …
