I made/uploaded a quick YouTube video. Mostly because I’ve been working more with VM/370 CE, which leads to me working more with the other OS’s, and some things are coming back to me, and…I’m bored!

VM/370…un-DIAL
If you, for example dial mvs. And you are on virtual address 010. You can #cp reset 010 from your mvs logon. Made/uploaded a short Youtube video. Mostly because I’m bored.
I bought a SanDisk 256GB USB flash drive
I don’t know why. I don’t really have a pressing need for it right now. But I saw it for $20 and couldn’t pass it up. The first USB flash drive I bought was 256MB and I think it was $60-$70.
IBM DOS lineage
I was sure I spelled lineage wrong. Line age? But I didn’t! I always forget the line of succession DOS/360 (1966) DOS/VS (1972) DOS/VSE (1979)* VSE/SP (1986)* VSE/ESA (1990)* z/VSE (2005) * – What I worked with
Basic-Plus COMPILE
I compiled, .BAC, my TAPE06 program. I didn’t seem any faster for my small test…1000 records…about 3 seconds. I don’t remember perhaps compile is more about protecting the code.

IN 7:30-12:45PM FOR VM/ESA REL 2 INSTALL.CALLED IBM LEVEL 1 (1X331) WITH PROBLEM DEFINING …
DMKRIO/HCPRIO
I was looking at an old mainframe log file I kept. I was looking up various words. Since I’ve been working with VM lately for some reason I decided to look for DMKRIO. I was shocked not to find it in my log file. How can this be? I remember DMKRIO. I did find a …
Haptics?
I was researching mobile phones and a couple places started talking about haptics. WTH are haptics? Even worse it rolls off their tongue as if, of course, everyone should know what that is. I know I’m sure a lot of younger people would say “OK boomer”. So I look it up and I found this …
Posted 3 YouTube videos in the last week.
No I’m not trying to be a regular YouTube contributor. One of the reasons I sometimes like to post a video is to have a date/time stamp of when I did something. I had recently put a lot of effort in reading IBM type tapes using Basic-Plus on a PDP-11, like I did many years …
