Visual Voicemail fiasco

Have a new phone so reinstalled. It says checking account then “Something went wrong. Try again later”. I’ve cleared cache and data, tried again…same thing!

Later…

It asks me to create a 4-7 digit password. I do, it says password is incorrect. It wasn’t I can count to 7 and I only entered digits…not characters. Then want’s me to call Voicemail to complete the setup. So I call and the first thing I’m asked is to enter my password. What password? The one you just told me was invalid? So I try it and of course it tells me it’s wrong. Finally I entered my old 14 digit password (thankfully I saved it before overwriting it), and it works. WTH? The app still tells me it’s not setup. But my messages show up in my desktop browser.
