My thoughts on Udemy courses

I have already coded in Go. But haven’t used many of the features. So I recently signed up for a Udemy go course. I get the sense that Udemy course aren’t thought of highly by many in the industry. Well I’ll be the judge of that. If I learn a few things for a price under $20 then it’s worth it for me. At this point I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’m unlikely to return to my profession because of my age and the profession itself has changed. I use to sit in the corner and code but now apparently to you having to be a “part of a team“. I mean to some extent you always have to be part of the business team. You work for the business best interest. But much more collaboration is needed now. The instructor for the current Go course I enrolled in is a college professor. I watched his preview and he seems very chill. You can’t tell me I can’t learn anything from him. Udemy courses are very affordable especially if you get them on sale…and they’re always on sale. I took a Pandas course from Udemy and I thought it was very good.

These people who dislike the Udemy courses feel they are superior and the Udemy courses are beneath them. They’re the type of people who answer questions condescendingly on Stack Overflow. The weasels who would NEVER talk like that to my face back in my day. And that includes bosses. I’ve been lucky the people I worked for by and large treated me respectfully.

My biggest problem currently is that for the first…and for a long time (many months) I have no project in mind to work on. So I’ll have to force myself to apply myself.
