Reinstall Tumbleweed because of Mint Install

Reinstall Tumbleweed because after Mint install, grub didn’t show OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. So now after that install Linux Mint starts very slow. Over 2min to get to signon screen. Reminds me of a problem I had with a Manjaro install using the wrong UUID when it created the Grub menu.

So trying to look at the startup logs on Mint and the dmesg command is suspicious here…

[ 6.558888] Btrfs loaded, crc32c=crc32c-intel
[ 6.805962] BTRFS: device fsid f65cc7d8-28b1-4b62-aa1f-754670aece40 devid 1 transid 335 /dev/sda3
[ 40.133898] EXT4-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)
[ 40.336321] systemd[1]: Inserted module 'autofs4'

Notice 30+ seconds pass [6.805-40.133] between something to do with Tumbleweed’s boot device /dev/sda3 and Mint’s boot device sda1. Why is Mint concerned with Tumbleweed’s sda3 which by the way uses the BTRFS file system?

Later there is an even longer wait…
