QEMU – Start first guest

Since Windows is so foreign to me at this point. I thought it would be interesting to install/run Windows 10 on a Linux VM. I think I got it here. I think I used Windows ME on my moms computer and Windows 2000 and many Linux distros on Virtualbox.

I was using Virtualbox mainly to test other Linux distributions. And for quite a while to write MS-Access programs on Windows 2000, for side work. Also my mom liked these family calendars I created using a calendar program (Calendar Creator?) that ran on Windows 2000. I would send her the PDF and she would print them out. It was fun for a time…but got old. I really haven’t needed a VM for a few years.

In creating my first VM, I hit my first snag with storage pools. And since I’m a take the defaults kinda guy. It tried to create the pools on my root volume. Which failed because of lack of space. So I allocated pools on my home directory…

Then everything was right in the world 🙂
