This post proves I have…too much time on my hands! I believe it’s true when they say if you don’t have anything good to say…don’t say anything! But they also say when you get older sometimes you loose your filter. So maybe that’s what’s happening here.
I like listening to Linux podcasts. You can learn a lot. Having said that I won’t listen to The Linux Link Tech Show. I can’t even make it past a minute. I also know they won’t lose sleep over this and they don’t care because they say so! Something at the beginning of each show like if you don’t like us you can stick it up your ass! Woe, they just don’t care…they must be outlaws! That’s how they roll. Don’t even try and hold them back. They’re wild and untamable. As of this post they are on episode 917, so they’ve been around awhile. I listened to the first few seconds wondering if they’ve grown up yet and changed the intro…they haven’t! I may be missing some good content. However I really don’t care either. As I said, they start each show with their cute little jingle with the line if you don’t like us you can stick it up your ass.
I much prefer the style of Noah of the Ask Noah Show. And the gang, including Noah at Destination Linux. They are family friendly. I’m not a prude but in the context of computers, cursing is not necessary. I myself have uttered a curse word or two regarding a particularly frustrating computer situation. Usually when I’m convinced a programming error is a computer bug. Even then it’s is not necessary. And just shows my own lack of character.
Hey look at us we’re not nerds were cool tech guys… we’re rebels. We’re edgy! We’re young, don’t even try to change us. Just like Peter Pan! Also nothing says we’re cool like the word also in their little intro that all the rappers use…fuddy-duddy. We’re adults who cuss…aren’t you impressed?
I’ve always been a nerd who liked tech and also told the corniest jokes, far from cool, just ask my daughter. I have no trouble embracing that fact. I have other interests too…cars, judo, animals in general but dogs especially. I’m a loner so not a big follower of most team sports. Maybe one day I can curse and be cool like them until then they can kiss my hiney…dagnabbit! Sorry for the harsh words.
