Trying to do something I’ve successfully done many times before and failing with the GNS 530 has been very frustrating. It’s been awhile so I assumed the problem was mine. It just didn’t make sense. So I decided to try flying with the GS1000. I never used this instrument before and yet on only my second attempt this is what I achieved…
I don’t think I could be on the magenta line any better. So with a totally new (to me) instrument and only on my second attempt I did what I was trying to repeatedly and frustratingly do on an the GNS 530. Not only that but I used the exact same flight plan I created on the 530.
Houston…I think we have a problem. And when I say we I mean you X-Plane.
What’s even more frustrating is I found this post on the X-Plane forums that sounds very similar to mine. It starts out “My plane never follows the GPS magenta line recently.. It just strolls off to wherever”. But recently for this post was February 2018…
