Along with the Blu-Ray player I just bought, I bought a couple old Disney animation classic’s, starting in the 1940s… in Blu-Ray. I mocked a older guy recently about having Frozen, in his collection. I still think it’s odd. But I often enjoy animated videos, especially old classics, because of nostalgia and the vibrant colors. Also the amount of work it took to create a full length animated movie, back in the day. I would have started with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)… but didn’t, because it’s delivery time was at least a week longer than the Blu-Ray player I bought. I’ll get it and others in the near future. I mean hasn’t everyone at some point in their working life sung “Hi ho, hi ho… it’s off to work I go”? My artistic skills are so bad, I truly admire and can appreciate people with that skill. The emotion these artists can give a animated character, combined with music, is very cool to me. I couldn’t do that in a million years! I can look at a video game in the same way, marveling at how grass or leaves, blow in the wind, or how far, realistic animated water has come.
According to Wikipedia Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) was the 1st animated feature film produced in the United States. It was almost 1.5 hrs long. It was the highest-grossing film of 1938. Walt Disney was awarded an honorary Oscar for the film, which was presented to Disney by Shirley Temple. Wikipedia also says it is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made, credited with ushering in the golden age of animation.
I love older cartoons and was excited about MeTV Toons, back in 2024.
