I just assumed makemkv would rip all episodes. I noticed different amounts of files ripped. So I did a little research. I appears that each disc in a season has 8 episodes. Below is 2 different rips, on the left is a rip from my original season 4 I bought years ago. On the right is a incomplete rip of season 4 from the Complete set I bought from ebay. Notice also how much smaller in size, each episode in the new season is on the Complete set.
The labels are slightly different too. The top one is from my original season 4 purchase. The bottom one is from the New Complete series and also missing the D in Disc…
BTW. I tried handbrake and it didn’t get all of the episodes either.
I also tried just copying the the whole folder… VIDEO_TS. It worked flawlessly… for the first Disc. VLC could play it just like a DVD with the menus and special features. This would be my preferred backup method. But trying to copy the 2nd disc, gave me this…
I’m not ready to give up yet. Perhaps it’s the LG Blue-ray/DVD player. I’m gonna buy a portable CD/DVD only (no Blueray) player. They’re only around $20. Because if I remember correctly, I noticed when I bought the LG Blue-ray/DVD player, years ago, regular DVD’s (the vast majority of my DVDs) took longer to recognize than when my player was CD/DVD only.
