kdenlive errors

Out of the blue, a few weeks ago I started getting kdenlive errors. And it won’t start! I googled and tried to install mlt, but it couldn’t find it or half a dozen other related libraries. Uninstalled/reinstalled kdenlive, but that didn’t work either. Very frustrating. I guess I’ll have to run the appimage, which does …

Stellarium

I have an interest in astronomy. And I use to use this program, to see where objects in the sky were, at my location. So I started it and I was lost. What’s happening to my brain? I remember using it to go forward in time so I could see where objects would be later …

I guess I’m not accessing IBM Z Xplore

Evidently I’m too stupid to set it up. Certainly a possibility. Let’s just go with that. However I was able to set it up 5 years ago, and complete the Master the Mainframe course. After contacting support with credential problems, and starting over. The PDF seems pretty clear. I once again get… There is only …

Honeycomb Alpha LITE

I have a joystick, that is certainly better than keyboard/mouse for X-Plane 11, but I’ve always wanted a yoke. I was considering the Honeycomb Alpha. But recently learned about the Honeycomb Alpha LITE which is basically $100 cheaper.

X-Plane 11 – increase time speed

I couldn’t increase time, Ctrl T, with my old video card, but now I can. Planes in X-Plane 11 takes as long to get from point A to Point B as in real life. But you can speed up time over long boring sections.

New scenic airport- KCLM

Saw it on a real (NOT simulator) YouTube video. Nice on X-Plane 11 too. KCLM – William R Fairchild International Airport, Port Angeles, Washington, USANice airport. Mountains to the right, taking off from runway 80 (or 08?) , water to the left

Pi Zero 2 WH needs Mini HDMI to HDMI

I knew it didn’t use a full size HDMI cable. But I assumed the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WH used the same Micro HDMI cable I bought for my Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB. But Nooooo the smaller Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WH needs the larger Mini HDMI connection. This chart is from a …

Added a thumbnail to my YouTube video

I uploaded “Z390 Portable Mainframe Assembler and Emulator” YouTube video, 3 years ago but noticed I never gave it a proper thumbnail for some reason.

CachyOS, MS Windows 11 and gaming.

Many years ago I tried different distros often. Manjaro (Arch based) was one of my favorites, but I always returned to Linux Mint. Mostly because it works and most importantly… updates don’t render my system useless. I really liked Manjaro, which I haven’t even tried in years, but eventually an update screwed up my system. …
