I just ran projectM, from Steam, yesterday. I played Half Life 2 a few weeks ago. It wanted me to download it again last night. Thought I’d look at it today. First it asked me if I was running low on space, which I wasn’t, then I get…

WTH?
Steam may not run? Steam did not run! So if Steam doesn’t work… none of my games will work. It always seems to be a lengthy process to solve these Steam game problems. But this isn’t even a Steam game, this is Steam itself. I don’t have enough of my own steam anymore, to Google and try this and try that. I just don’t care anymore. The only “game” I really care about (and I consider it, and so does Laminar research, a simulation… not a game) is X-Plane-11.
Their minimum requirements state… Linux 64-bit distribution (nothing about 32 bits)
At this point I’m seriously considering just buying the non-Steam X-Plane 11. And wiping Steam off my computer. That would make me happy, and I could live without the other games. The easiest and first thing to try is uninstalling/reinstalling Steam. Otherwise,I may make one small attempt to see if I can find a solution, but I’m not trying 20 things. The solution better jump off the page. When I first decided to move to Linux many years ago, I had already decided that losing MS games, would be an acceptable causality.
I’ve had no problems running other programs, so far since then.
I want to stay Linux/X-Plane. But if I get desperate enough, I may consider XBox/MS Flight Simulator. I just want to do Flight Sim when I want to do Flight Sim. It’s something I’m not particularly good at, but I really like the learning aspect of Flight Simming. Or… I just learned MS Flight Simulator is coming to the PS5 in December. In the past when I considered a advanced gaming system I always favored the PS5 over XBox. However I assume the best version will be on the XBox.
