Why do my YouTube comments keep getting removed?

This is what you do, when you have too much time on your hands. Post stuff that in the grand scheme of things isn’t that important. Anywho…

This guy posted a nice video about the PDP-10, he described it as a mainframe.

In looking at the comments. I noticed a comment where some guy disputed this. Saying “NOBODY ever called ANYTHING made by DEC a mainframe.” He was so sure he was right the he emphasized it using caps. I have spoken!

I knew DEC called it a mainframe, and went looking for proof. And I posted this link. Here is the pic just in case the link goes missing.

Many hours later, I got a Notification (signified by the bell) that someone had replied that “DEC ran ads for the PDP-10 where they described it as a “personal mainframe”. I’m thinking duh, I posted a link to the ad hours before. The whole reason YouTube sent me that notification is because I replied to the original comment. They don’t send notification to comments posted before your comment. However my reply was gone. It seems pretty obvious that he saw my link.

I went through something similar months ago and did a little digging. And I satisfied myself that sometimes YouTube removes comments with links because of possible spamming. Except I noticed as you can see below (by the blue URL) that someone else commented with a link. So I’m thinking, It seems that YouTube for whatever reason doesn’t have a problem with links in these comments. So I posted my link.

So where is it?

I did find a record of my comment (but not on the topic page)…

But if you do the math it appears that their comment was made an hour before mine. However, if so… why did I get a notification AFTER I posted my comment. That’s when they send you new notifications. WTH?
