First day. Just hooked gateway up. Not great. Uverse for comparison.
I was highly skeptical if I could even get 5G, because my phone doesn’t. It does if I walk 2 doors South of my house. However Verizon said I could based on my address. Also I know different devices have different capabilities. So I thought it was possible that this could have better 5G capabilities than my phone. At one time I had an external TV digital converter that picked up more stations than the converter built-into my TV.
BTW… 2 out of 3 bars

I’ve got to say, on paper, compared to Uverse, the Verizon Speedtest looks really bad. But in viewing a few YouTube videos… it doesn’t feel terrible. I’ll have to give it more time, I have 30 days. Will save $20-$30 a month. That’s a big deal for a cheapskate like me. I’m retired… I can wait for a web page to load. I’ve been looking to change from AT&T because of this incident for over a year.
I will say I’m using a very old USB Wi-Fi adapter (Trendnet TEW424UB). YouTube has a 15 yr old video of this adapter. Trendnet has a quick installation guide dated 2007.

So I will def buy a new USB Wi-Fi adapter. Also try Ethernet cable, need to buy longer cable.

7:27PM Download worse, upload better

Laptop (built-in Wi-Fi) 8:29 PM. Both better than desktop, especially download.
