AT&T and Verizon

Some AT&T representatives stopped by to ask me about my service. I told them I was happy with the service but the price is ridiculous. I said I was paying $70-80, he gave me a number and said to call and tell them I should be paying $55 and that he was a territorial manager.

I also noticed that Verizon says 5G is available here again. It is, one day… it isn’t, the next.

So here’s the plan, as of today. I’m going to call that number to see if AT&T gives me any trouble. I’m also going to order Verizon with their 30 day money back guarantee. Because my phone doesn’t get 5G, I suspect I won’t get it with Verizon either. But who knows maybe their 5G circuitry is greater than my phone. My phone gets 5G, just 2 houses South of me. However if it drops to 4G and the speed isn’t atrocious, I still my go with them simply because of Retention Specialist, Ronald’s “you’ll pay it… and you’ll like it” attitude. And also I’ll still probably have to deal with a price increase in each subsequent year, whereas Verizon locks me in at $50/mo for 5 years. I want descent speed, but I’m retired and can wait (out of spite) for a page to load. Also I assume the service will improve as time goes on. At the same time I could still get poor reception if there are many customers.
