Sometimes I really piss myself off. Something went wrong with the linux pcloud program, and it stopped working… probably several years ago. It use to sit in the bottom tray. I kinda forgot about it, but it popped into my head today and I logged on using the browser interface. Anyway I should be able …

Crumbl
I have a Crumbl cookie store opening near me. So I decided to check out their web page. And I found this amusing. The Crumbl web site says “This site uses cookies to improve your experience”. Well of course it does. It wants me to “Accept All Cookies”. Sounds a little pushy to me.

Well I do go there a lot.
This print viewing problem is stressing me out
So you’re telling me that the only way to actually look at VM printer output… is to print it out? I can’t believe how difficult it’s been to figure out how to look at printer/spool output from VM has been. I finally had to walk away from it a few hours ago. This is a …

I can’t believe how far computing has advanced in my lifetime

Made a new DOS/VS startup video
Now that I learned how to script x3270, I made a new DOS/VS startup video to upload to YouTube, to replace my kludgy screen record/playback video where I used cnee to acomplish that. This 3270 script is much more elegant and quicker. I was almost ready to upload. But realize I must solve one problem …
Making DOS/VS friendlier
So armed with learning about x3270 scripting and my recent Docker knowledge… my imagination runs wild. One of the things I truly hate about using DOS/VS is the manual startup that is extremely tedious. Perhaps I can dockerize DOS/VS and VM/370 CE. That already include my VM REXX execs, to submit jobs to DOS/VS. So …
Automating x3270 tasks
A cool video popped up in my YouTube suggestions. It uses x3270 scripting, for automated testing on TK5. A while ago, I uploaded a video about using cnee to automate keystrokes to start DOS/VS. It works but it records an playbacks screen responses based on the screen position. So if you move the x3270 screen… …
Created a TK5 docker image
It works… but it’s huge! Will look at that later. I started with Ubuntu 18.4 and got some `GLIBC_2.34′ not found, errors. Same thing with 20.4. Finally success with 22.04
