Now that I learned how to script x3270, I made a new DOS/VS startup video to upload to YouTube, to replace my kludgy screen record/playback video where I used cnee to acomplish that. This 3270 script is much more elegant and quicker.
I was almost ready to upload. But realize I must solve one problem 1st. I look at DOS/VS spool output locally on Linux. I do everything on VM… except that. No! People didn’t have that ability 50 years ago. I know we viewed spool output on VM… back in the day. I’m just being lazy. Besides, it’s part of my spiel (had to look that spelling up).
This is something I did all the time… back in the day. I can’t remember how. And so far no amount of Googling has gotten me the answer. I watched a Moshix video of a professor getting COBOL to work on VM/370. He submitted a job from VM, but he just looked at the output locally like I did, so that was no help.
It’s gonna be so simple in hindsight… like of course… obviously!
