Of course no go. Repository errors after typing…sudo zypper refresh. I really need to checkout their snapshot system. Back to Mint for now.

Coding in Julia again
I’ve noticed is start up time still can be very long. I think it’s called time to plot. I forgot many Juliaisms. I already mentioned strings verses characters. Another gotcha…string concatenation which uses the ‘*’ and not the more common ‘+’. I think the rest of this paragraph is wrong and applies to Python. Yesterday …
Julia how soon you forget
I wanted to write a program to rename a lot of files and I remembered how much I liked how Julia worked with files. So I jumped back in. I needed to bypass a file if it had a “-” in a certain position in the file name. So for example I wrote if filename[5]==”-“…then …

So on Mint it was three debs to install 1) Free Pascal 2) Free Pascal sources and 3) Lazarus itself. All 3 installed with no problems! Even though I was recently playing …
Clonezilla backup
Backup Mint root partition, because it’s been awhile and I intend to install Lazarus.
Classic text based Star Trek
I remember running the above mentioned game on my school’s PDP/11 (model 40 I think) it was so much fun at the time. I also had a TRS-80 at the time. I really thought it would be awesome to run that game on my TRS-80. There were some Computer Game books around written by David …
