Start looking into dynamic DNS for a way to access my NextCloud server outside my internal network, on the Internet. I’m still leery about leaving a computer attached to the Internet, constantly online! But at the same time having my own server to store my personal data is extremely interesting. As a society we are so interested in convenience, that by habit we just click and accept terms and agreements and without realizing what we are giving up by using all these conveniences, many that NextCloud provides.
I also need to look into using Let’s Encrypt…for secure http or https:// web pages!
Downloaded NextCloud app on my android phone but it requires https: just like the Linux client, so I connected via the web browser to regular http: and copied a photo from my phone to NextCloud Server then could see it on my main Linux computer also throught the web browser so https: wasn’t required.
